Magic Peru

Day 1: ARRIVAL IN LIMA (-/-/-)
With scheduled flight arrival in Lima, transfer and hotel accommodation. Overnight.

Day 2: Lima - Paracas (B/-/-)
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Museo Larco Herrera, the most important private collection of pre-Hispanic pottery of the nation, among them being the collection of erotic pottery that belonged to the Moche culture and other pre-Inca cultures that developed in the country. The museum houses about 50,000 pieces, including several mummies and textiles. During the visit will be offered a typical Peruvian drink. In the early afternoon, transfer to the private bus terminal and transfer by public bus tour (service Crucero Cruz del Sur) to Paracas. Arrival and hotel accommodation. Overnight.

Day 3: Paracas - Nazca (B/-/-)
After breakfast, departure for the excursion set (without guide) to the Ballestas Islands, just 30 minutes by boat from the coast. On the islands you can observe thousands of birds including the pelican, the rayador the guanay and various species of sea lions and Humboldt penguins. Later, starting with a public bus tour to Nazca. Arrival, transfer and hotel accommodation. Overnight.

Day 4: NAZCA - AREQUIPA (B/-/-)
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, transfer to the small airport to make the flight over (regular service with driver / guide) of the mysterious "Nazca Lines", drawn in a desert area 20 km from the city. We can observe various geometric shapes, flowers, figures of birds, reptiles and monkeys. Later, starting with public tourist bus to Arequipa. Arrive late evening and transfer to hotel. Overnight.

Day 5: AREQUIPA (B/-/-)
After breakfast, sightseeing and the Convent of Santa Catalina, founded in 1580. This colonial jewel, particularly religious architecture is composed of churches, cloisters, squares, circles and various preserves intact the colonial charm of the sixteenth century. Later he makes the very interesting visit to the museum Santuarios Andinos which houses the famous mummy Juanita, an Incan virgin of 14 years, sacrificed 530 years ago near the top of the volcano Ampato to over 6300 m altitude. His nickname is "Juanita the Ice Princess." It was discovered in 1995 by Peruvian Miguel Zarate guide American archaeologist John Reinhard. The burial site was discovered by the eruption of the nearby volcano Sabancaya which had caused a partial collapse of the glacial part of the WAP. Return to the hotel. Overnight

Day 6: Arequipa - Juliaca - PUNO (B/-/-)
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer in time to the airport in Arequipa and departure flight to Juliaca. Upon arrival transfer to Puno. About 30 minutes from Juliaca lies the village of lightning, one of the most characteristic of the plateau, rarely visited by tourists and known as "La Ciudad Rosada" for its many colonial buildings predominantly pink, with a focus around the beautiful church. Upon arrival in Puno, accommodation in hotel and free time to acclimatise to high altitude.

Day 7: PUNO (B/L/-)
After breakfast, depart for the excursion to the floating islands of Uros on Lake Titicaca (regular boat for less than 4 participants). These islands, formed by layers of totora "(reed that grows in abundance in the lake), are inhabited by descendants of an ancient race called Uros. Lunch Box Lunch included. Also visit the island of Taquile, known for its unique beauty and fertility of its lands and terraces. The inhabitants still retain the habits and customs of their ancestors. Return to Puno in the late afternoon. Overnight.

Day 8: PUNO - CUSCO (B/L/-)
After breakfast, private transfer to the bus terminal and departure overland tourist bus to Cusco. The distance is about 386 km and the journey time of around 9 hours with the opportunity to visit interesting places (Help spag / English), far beyond the normal tourist circuits. The stops are listed below. Raqchi or visit the Temple of Viracocha, impressive and extensive temple in the south of Cusco. Here you can see remains of walls over 5 feet high, built of mud and stone with ground round columns of stone, an important example of the different architectural techniques of the Incas. Visiting the town Andahuaylillas, known for the church of San Pedro de Andahuaylillas, also known as "the Sistine Chapel of the Americas." Lunch along the route. Arrival in Cusco and hotel accommodation. Overnight.
Day 9: CUSCO (B/L/-)
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, city tour and nearby ruins of Quenqo, Tambo Machay, Puca Pucara and the Fortress of Sacsayhuaman. Return to the hotel. In the afternoon hike in the picturesque neighborhood of San Blas, where the focus workshops and craft shops. Its streets are steep and narrow with old buildings built on Inca foundations and often open into bright squares. The Quechua name of this district is Toq'ocachi which means "place of grace." During the visit will also bring you closer to the work of a workshop. In the course of lunch in a typical restaurant excursion where you will have the opportunity to taste some of the specialties of the robust cuisine of the Andes. Overnight.

Day 10: CUSCO - SACRED VALLEY (B/L/-)
After breakfast, departure for the visit of the typical market of Pisac, where you can make some good purchases among the colorful stalls. Lunch. In the afternoon, visit the fortress of Ollantaytambo. Built at the foot of a hill, is one of the most important examples of military architecture of the Incas. Day 11: SACRED VALLEY (B/L/-)
Breakfast, full day devoted to visiting some of the most picturesque corners of the valley. Maras, a small village which was very prosperous in the colonial era, whose unique attraction is the salt mines or salineras located near the village. Used since pre-Columbian times, the salt is extracted through an ancient system of evaporation, whereby the salt water from an underground stream is exposed to the sun in hundreds of ponds evaporates. E 'marvelous spectacle offered by the tanks that take on different colors depending on the stage of evaporation. A short distance away you can visit the amphitheater of Moray. Day 12: SACRED VALLEY - MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO (B/L/-)
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Ollantaytambo train station and train to Machu Picchu. The trip takes place along the Valley dell'Urubamba until you reach the town of Aguas Calientes and then by minibus to the majestic ruins of Machu Picchu, 'the lost city' discovery in 1911 by anthropologist American Hiram Bingham. Lunch at the end of the visit. Return train to Cusco arriving late in the afternoon. Overnight.
NB If you like you can stay overnight at Machu Picchu / Aguas Calientes at an additional cost but it is important to note that to visit again the ruins you must pay a second admission ticket (more than U.S. $ 50), and the night of driving if needed.
Day 13: CUSCO - LIMA (B/-/-)
Breakfast at the hotel. Last hours for shopping in many local markets, and to quietly enjoy this wonderful city. In the afternoon transfer to airport and departure flight to Lima. Arrival, transfer and hotel accommodation. Overnight.
Day 14: DEPARTURE FROM LIMA (B/-/-)
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the historical center of the capital that contains important testimonies of the colonial era. Transfer in time to the airport and departure flight home (arriving the next day).
